Director of ENQA
Maria Kelo is the Director of ENQA, the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (since 2011). She represents ENQA in the E4 group and the Bologna Process (BFUG and relevant working groups). Maria is a member of the Executive Board of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) and chaired its self-evaluation process in 2015-2016. Prior to joining ENQA in 2011, Maria worked for nine years in the field of higher education, first as a trainee at the European Commission, as research assistant at Eurydice (2003), Senior Officer at the Academic Cooperation Association (2003-2009), Programme manager at EUA (2010), and as independent consultant. During these years Maria carried out a number of projects and studies on international higher education and has published several articles and books on related topics. Maria is a graduate of University College London and London School of Economics.
