Partnerships & Authorisations
As a globally active accreditation agency, ASIIN is a member of all central international registers and quality assurance associations.
ASIIN is also officially registered in a number of countries and empowered to carry out local accreditations.
Finally, ASIIN currently maintains partnerships with agencies in 23 countries and carries out joint accreditation procedures in selected target countries with local partner agencies.
Memberships in international Quality Assurance networks
The Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) is the regional umbrella organization of quality assurance and accreditation agencies in higher education for the Asia-Pacific region. It promotes the networking of quality assurance agencies, the exchange of best practices and the development of national quality assurance systems in higher education. ASIIN is a member of the APQN with the status of an "Observer".
CEENQA e.V. is a Central and Eastern European network in the field of accreditation. The core objective of CEENQA e.V. is to continue the cooperation of the member organizations in developing and harmonizing their quality assurance and -promotion activities in higher education in Central and Eastern Europe. Its work contributes to the development and completion of the Single European Higher Education Area. ASIIN manages the secretariat of CEENQA.
As a member of the Evaluation Society, ASIIN supports its efforts to contribute to the professionalization and exchange of information around evaluation.
The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) was re-established in Frankfurt on the Main on November 4th, 2004 as a European network for cooperation and quality assurance in the higher education sector. Members include European agencies for accreditation and quality assurance. ASIIN has been a full member of ENQA since February 2007.
The European Chemistry Thematic Network Association (ECTNA) is an institution of the Socrates-Erasmus program. It manages the Eurobachelor® and Euromaster® labels for chemistry and chemical engineering courses. The award of the labels is based on learning-outcome criteria developed in an EU-funded project. ASIIN is a member of ECTNA and is authorized to award the Eurobachelor® and Euromaster® labels as part of its accreditation procedures for bachelor's and master's degree programs in chemistry.
The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) is a world-wide association of 300+ organisations active in the theory and practice of quality assurance in higher education. The great majority of its members are quality assurance agencies that operate in many different ways, although the Network also welcomes (as associate members) other organisations that have an interest in QA in HE. ASIIN has been a full member of INQAAHE since March 2006 and during this time has successfully undergone an international review ("Guidelines of Good Practice").
Admissions
In 2015, ASIIN was included in the ordinance of the Federal Minister of Science, Research and Economics listing the higher education quality assurance agencies authorized to conduct audits at HEIs in Austria, in accordance with the Austrian Higher Education Quality Assurance Act. ASIIN audits therefore carry the same weight as those conducted by the national agency.
EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education) is the umbrella organization that manages the European register of accreditation and quality assurance agencies. The Register was founded by the four major European organizations in the field of quality work in higher education - ENQA, ESU, EUA and EURASHE - and identifies those agencies that meet the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG). ASIIN has been listed in the register since 2008.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan included ASIIN in the National Register of Accreditation Agencies on June 27, 2012. Since then, accreditation decisions of ASIIN are recognized by the Ministry. On October 27th, 2022, the recognition was again confirmed by the Ministry. Degree programs accredited by ASIIN at Kazakh universities are included in a national register.
On the basis of the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of July 2019, ASIIN has been included in the list of foreign accreditation and quality assurance agencies authorized to issue accreditation certificates for educational programs recognized in Ukraine (see Section 8, Article 25 of the Ukrainian Law on Higher Education).
As of 16 June 2021, ASIIN has been officially accredited by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and is thus authorised to carry out international accreditation procedures at higher education institutions in Vietnam.
Since the beginning of 2019, ASIIN is officially registered with the Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation (MNCEA) and is thus authorized to conduct international accreditation procedures at universities in Mongolia.
As of August 19th 2020, ASIIN has been granted authorisation by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) to carry out quality assurance activities at Turkish higher education institutions. The authorisation is valid for study programmes which have already produced graduates.
