Cooperation of ASIIN and ASGUAS for the Improvement of the Chinese Higher Education Sector
ASIIN and the Association of Sino-German Universities (Colleges) of Applied Sciences (ASGUAH) have signed a collaboration agreement for the improvement of the Chinese Higher Education Sector.
The Association of Sino-German Universities of Applied Sciences (ASGUAS) was established in Chongqing in October 2016. Its primary goal is to promote in-depth cooperation and facilitate the development or transformation of its member institutions. It is an academic and collaborative organization that includes governmental and non-governmental agencies, universities, and enterprises from both China and Germany. Currently, it consists of 86 Chinese universities of applied sciences, and it plans to continue expanding.
The agreement is based upon the conviction that quality assurance in higher education is the foundation for the successful promotion of cooperation and exchange between Higher Education Institutions across borders and regions.
The activities to be developed within this framework agreement and subsequent specific collaboration agreements have the following purposes:
- To improve the quality of HE offered by the Chinese HE sector and to provide better information on the quality of revised programmes and institutions to different national and international stakeholders.
- To promote the international dimension of QA activities.
- To optimise the work of self-assessment by the universities in obtaining multiple recognition.
- To foster the international network of the Chinese HE sector.
