From October 28 to November 4, 2024, ASIIN China Week took place - a week-long event that deepened the partnership between German and Chinese educational institutions. With a variety of forums, workshops and celebrations, ASIIN set new accents in international quality assurance and accreditation in the education sector.

Chongqing Forum: Sino-German Higher Education in the Age of AI
The week began with the Fourth Sino-German Forum for International Education in Chongqing (October 28-29). Under the motto “Sino-German Higher Education Cooperation and Practice in the AI Era”, strategic topics of higher education cooperation were discussed. Highlights included the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between ASIIN and the Sino-German Applied Universities Alliance (ASGUAS) as well as presentations on international accreditation and the role of ASIIN in global education.

Workshop and anniversary at USST
On October 30, the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) celebrated its 20th anniversary of cooperation with ASIIN. A workshop with experts from 12 universities provided insights into accreditation procedures, self-assessment reports and best practices. The event recognized USST's achievements with 17 accredited programs since 2004 and marked the university as a leading member of the international education community.

Intensive training workshops in Shanghai
From October 31 to November 2, training workshops were held in Shanghai to prepare 15 Chinese universities for the accreditation of 30 programs in 2025. With over 200 participants, the focus was on practical approaches such as creating self-assessment reports, simulating audits and teaching international standards.

Renewal of the partnership with ZEAC
At the end of the week, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Shanghai Zhiliang Educational Assessment Center (ZEAC) was renewed on November 4. The cooperation includes joint accreditation practices for private universities, knowledge exchange and the awarding of certifications.
