Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Röther

Michael Röther is professor for electrical engineering at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) since 2009. He studied electrical engineering at the University of Stuttgart with a focus on power electronics, control engineering and drive technology. During his fourteen years in industry, he worked in the field of consulting intensive products and solutions for steel industry, shipbuilding and renewable energies. His international industrial work took him to various European, Asian and Arab countries. One of his main areas of work at HAW Hamburg is electrical energy technology in the field of regenerative energies. Furthermore, he regularly teaches at the partner university in China, the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. On 01.09.2015 he took over the German project management for the joint Shanghai-Hamburg College and acts as the presidential representative of HAW Hamburg for China.
