Prof.Dr.-Ing.habil. Manfred Krafczyk

Professor Manfred Krafczyk is the Vice President for Digitalization and Sustainability at TU Braunschweig, a role he officially assumed on September 1, 2023, after serving in an interim capacity since August 2022. He also continues to lead research in flow simulation and construction informatics at the Institute for Computational Modeling in Civil Engineering, where he has been a key figure since 2001. His research group focuses on developing and applying numerical methods for flow simulation on parallel hardware, with applications ranging from microsystems technology to soil physics, aerodynamics, and wind engineering.

Professor Krafczyk's extensive experience in digitalization and sustainability is further reflected in his oversight of the Gauss IT Center, the University Library, and the Center for Climate Research in Lower Saxony. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Energy Research Center of Lower Saxony (EFZN) and as Climate Protection Officer at TU Braunschweig, where he continues to contribute significantly to energy research and climate protection.
