Prof. Dr. Chistian Andreas Schumann

Christian-Andreas Schumann is Vice Chair of ASIIN e.V. He is Advisor to the University Board for International Affairs at the West Saxon University of Zwickau as well as Director of the Centre for New Study Forms and the Institute for Management and Information. As Dean and Dean of Studies of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics for many years, he played a key role in the transformation of the university into a research- and application-orientated university. He has been active in the Sino-German University of Applied Sciences at Tongji University in Shanghai since 2008, including many years as deputy main coordinator and subject coordinator in the largest Sino-German higher education project.
As a business informatics expert, he is a member of the British Academy of Management, whose European Continental Network he chairs. His involvement in the International Council for Open and Distance Education resulted in his work as a high-level expert for educational development in the Arab countries on behalf of UNESCO. He is a Senior Fellow of EDEN Digital Learning Europe and a member of the Board of the EDEN Fellow Council. Within the Association of German Engineers, he is a member of the Board Assembly, the Interdisciplinary Committee for Digital Transformation and the Advisory Board for Engineering Education.
Christian-Andreas Schumann completed his doctorate and habilitation at Chemnitz University of Technology. For several years, he worked in industrial research before returning to the university as a professor. He has more than 330 scientific publications and has often played a leading role in more than 100 research projects. In addition, he worked for 25 years as consultant for IT strategy for the executive board of SiberHegner Holding and later at the Swiss DKSH Group.
