Professor Gregor Engels
Gregor Engels held the position of Chair of Software Engineering and Information Systems at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands, between 1991 and 1997. Since then, he is Professor of Informatics at Paderborn University, Germany.
He is chairperson of the Software Innovation Lab, the university part of the technology transfer institute SICP - Software Innovation Campus Paderborn at Paderborn University. He is member of the Executive Board of Informatics Europe, a network organization of computer science departments from whole Europe.
His research interests are in the area of socio-technical systems, model-driven software development, software architecture, and software quality assurance. He is engaged in many initiatives on the impact of computer science on the future of work, education, enterprises, and society.
He published more than 320 scientific peer-reviewed contributions and was supervisor of 50 PhD projects. He teaches since more than 40 years in bachelor, master and PhD as well in professional education programs.
