Gerald Caissy

Resides in a rural community in the province of Prince Edward Island, on Canada’s east coast, with his wife Debbie, where they raised their three children and enjoy many visits from them and their 9 grandchildren.

Obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science with a Specialization in Business Data Processing from Acadia University in 1983, a Learning Management Diploma in Adult Education from Holland College in 1989, an Information Systems Professional (I.S.P.) designation from the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) in 2001, a Master of Science in Information Systems from Athabasca University in 2005, Information Technology Certified Professional of Canada (ITCP) designation in 2009, and recognized as a Fellow of CIPS in 2018.

Retired from Holland College as a faculty member, of 32+ years, in the Computer Information Systems Program. In retirement, is current the National Director of Accreditations overseeing Canadian college and university computer science program accreditations, both within Canada and internationally. Participating in over 20 post-secondary accreditation audits over the past 22 years.

Most recently, as CIPS’s representative to the Seoul Accord, was elected as Deputy-Chair.
