Prof. Dr.-Ing. Manfred Krafczyk

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Manfred Krafczyk has been in office as Senior Vice President for Digitisation and Sustainability since 1 September 2023. He had already assumed this position on an interim basis since 1 August 2022. Prof. Krafczyk joined the Executive Board in April 2020: initially responsible for issues of digitisation and technology transfer.

Manfred Krafczyk has been working as a professor for flow simulation and construction informatics at the Institute for Computational Modeling in Civil Engineering at TU Braunschweig since October 2001. He heads a research group dedicated to the development and application of numerical methods for the simulation of flows on parallel hardware as well as aspects of construction informatics. The application of these methods ranges from microsystems technology and soil physics to aerodynamics and civil and environmental engineering.

He participated in several national and international scientific committees and commissions. For the design of the department of digitalization and sustainabililty, he brings a wide range of experience, including as a long-standing member of the various IT committees of the Carolo-Wilhelmina and has helped shape their transformation.
