AGUNE Webinar on World University Rankings – 13 September 2024

On 13 September, AGUNE (ASIIN Global University Network of Excellence) successfully hosted a webinar that attracted 25 participants from 6 universities and institutions worldwide.

The event, focused on "World Rankings of Higher Education," featured a keynote presentation by Professor Dr. Frank Ziegele, Managing Director of the CHE Centre for Higher Education in Gütersloh, a German think tank specializing in higher education policy and management. He is also a professor at the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück.

To kick off the session, the host, Monika Song, engaged attendees with an interactive survey aimed at gathering insights from university stakeholders on the significance of international rankings, the challenges they face, and the strategies they employ to navigate them. The responses set the stage for an engaging discussion on the complexities and innovations shaping global higher education rankings.

Following Professor Dr. Ziegele's presentation, a lively discussion session allowed participants to delve deeper into the implications of rankings for their institutions, exchanging ideas and best practices.

Mrs. Astrid Hartman from ASIIN Consulting then took the stage to explain how AGUNE members can collaborate with ASIIN Academy. She highlighted opportunities for members to access workshops, seminars, and support services designed to enhance the quality of education and international recognition.

To conclude the event, Monika Song introduced upcoming AGUNE activities and events, including the next webinar, scheduled for 12 November, with the key topic: "A Best Practice: Revolutionizing Higher Education."

The webinar was a significant step in fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge among AGUNE members, further strengthening the network’s mission of enhancing the global presence and quality of higher education institutions.
