About us
The International Information Technology University (JSC “IITU”) is one of the leading higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan specializing in the training of highly qualified professionals in the field of information and communication technologies. The University was established on April 2, 2009 by the instruction of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev, and on May 29, 2009 obtained a state license to carry out educational activities.
Our focus areas
Science & Research Focus Areas – core disciplines in IT & digital technologies (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science & Big Data Analytics, Cybersecurity & Information Security, Software Engineering & DevOps) alongside research ecosystem priorities such as applied research & industry collaboration, technology transfer & commercialization, innovation labs & startup incubation, international research partnerships, and grant-funded research (national & global).
Quality Management (Education & Institutional Excellence) – educational quality through student-centered learning and academic integrity & assessment transparency, supported by quality assurance systems including Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) frameworks, accreditation, KPI-driven performance management, and data-driven decision making.
Strategic Planning – Mission: training specialists and researchers with digital and AI competencies capable of operating effectively in conditions of environmental turbulence and fragility. Strategic goal: to become a next-generation university in Central Asia that develops digital and AI-driven solutions in an era of rapid technological change. Vision: IITU — “AI-Driven University” — a value-oriented ecosystem of education, research, and innovation with responsible AI leaders and breakthrough technologies.
